Position Synopsis
If you are a collaborative and dynamic training professional, then consider this opportunity to lead our Training function in Port Hedland. Reporting to the Manager Human Resources for Port & Rail, you will coordinate sitewide training activities to ensure a competent workforce whilst providing a customer-focussed advisory service. Achieving success in this role will require you to build close partnerships with Leaders across the business, other training professionals and the broader Iron Ore HR team. You will need to understand local development needs and address these needs within a one-business context.
Leading a small site based training team, your key focus will be to ensure effective provision of training systems and delivery so that all employees and contractors can be deemed competent and carry out their roles safely. Your industry skills and experience will ensure that training delivery and record maintenance are well planned and that business needs are met in an efficient and timely manner.
Your role will also require:
* Understanding and an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development;
* Partnering with training professionals across the business to ensure compliance to a one-business approach;
* Developing and refining systems and processes to manage the provision of sitewide training;
* Managing the implementation of best practice training and assessment procedures;
* Ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the training records systems;
* Supporting customers in the identification of training needs, options for delivery and the evaluation of outcomes;
* Produce regular performance metrics for management, and ensure process compliance by the team;
* Lead continuous improvement through mentoring and coaching, supported by performance metrics; and
* Design effective induction processes, leveraging technology and best practise.
Skills and Experience
To be considered, you will have tertiary qualifications in training and development or a related area. In addition, you will have accumulated extensive experience in creating training and development strategies supported by strong systems knowledge and an understanding of national training packages. A demonstrated approach in auditing training systems and success in building and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships will be highly regarded.
