Our Client is a major minerals company operating globally. The Mining Business Unit operations cover the first phase of the energy cycle and consist of four main activities: mineral exploration (discovering new ore deposits), mining (extraction of energy minerals), ore processing and site reclamation following mining activities. The company operates a number of mines and mineral process plants in Francophone West Africa.
Our Client has a requirement for a PROJECT CONTROLLER reporting to the Project Director, your mission consists in assisting in cost, scheduling, methods and risk management functions.
>> To do this, you are responsible for:
- Implementing tools and methods needed to manage the Project and ensuring the deployment of the common reference framework for the Project Department is taken into account in your Project;
- Creating the Project master schedule through consolidation of underlying schedules, performing critical analysis of schedules created by engineering departments, and monitoring and controlling their implementation;
- Performing critical analysis and cost control of the Project in conjunction with the engineering departments;
- Producing reports;
- The Project and monitoring and implementing resulting action plans, in conjunction with the engineering department for risk analysis;
- Commissioning and monitoring necessary quality audits.
>> Three positions are available:
- The 1st position is initially based in Paris, France and then in Francophone Central Africa;
- The 2nd position is initially based in Paris, France and then in a major town in Francophone West Africa;
- The 3rd position is based in English/ Afrikaans Southern Africa.
>> Your Profile:
- You hold an Engineering or Business School degree;
- You have proven, similar experience as the project owner or prime contractor within Project teams, in the production phase;
- You have good interpersonal skills;
- You have an analytical approach and the ability to summarize;
- You are fluent in both English and French.
