About the Job
This position is not located in the Houston area and requires relocation.
Our client company is a major petroleum Refiner with multiple refineries throughout the US is increasing capacity at each facility and undergoing plant process optimization. They are currently looking to hire a couple of Fixed Equipment Inspectors for one of their refineries. The hired individuals will provide mechanical equipment inspection services to the refinery according to inspection procedures and the principles of the API 510, 570 and 653 practices.
Job Duties:
Effectively schedule NDE contractor resources used at the site
Prepare cost estimates for inspection jobs and track job progress and all related charges
Determine the most appropriate NDT techniques and applications to effectively accomplish the inspection task
Develop inspection schedules based upon the due list or inspection programs generated with the Knowledge Based Inspection (KBI) methodology to meet State, Corporate, and Unit requirements;
Perform periodic maintenance inspections and permanently maintain documentation needs;
Assist in the development of repairs and modifications to insure that the level of Safety, Quality, and Reliability are achieved to support Plant Operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED;
Seven plus years experience conducting non-destructive examination & inspection of fixed equipment and piping within the Chemical and/or Petrochemical Industry;
Ten plus years experience in equipment fabrication and repair;
Certified API Inspector (API 510, 570, 653);
ASNT Level II, candidate shall have at least four of following NDE methods: MT, PT, RT, VT & UT and be willing to accomplish getting the other methods within an agreed upon time;
Strong background in various NDE applications associated with field & shop inspection;
Knowledge and understanding of the Knowledge (Risk) Based Inspection approach;
Structured/organized working style to support the continuous improvement process within the inspection group;
Ability to create reliable customer relationships;
Good communication skills;
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others;
Willingness and ability to work extended hours, if applicable;
Willingness to travel, when applicable.
Compensation is very competitive (DOE). These are full-time positions eligible for benefits.
