Barrick Tanzania seeks to seeks to appoint a Human Resources Manager to form part of a Senior Leadership team responsible for the Human Resources, Training, Communication and Continuous Improvement functions on the mine site.
KEY RESULT AREAS / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Human Resources and Labour Relations
• Recruitment and selection
• Workforce planning
• Compensation and benefits
• Performance Management
• Talent Management
• Labour Cost Management
• HR Policies and Procedures design and maintenance
• Develop competency and service delivery levels of the HR function
• Provide guidance and leadership in employees relations
• Establish a communication strategy for employee communication
• Responsible for union negotiations
• Building and maintaining good union relationships
• Maintenance of agreements
• Ensure work practices and procedures are in accordance with Labour Legislation requirements
Training
• Provide leadership and guidance to the training discipline
• Implement a monitoring system for tracking progress with regards to succession and localization programs
• Implement a monitoring system for the personal development plan process
• Ensure that Company initiatives on supervisory and leadership development are supported
• Ensure that training is in place to develop employees to a high level of competence
• To ensure that training takes place to develop employees to their level of potential
• Implement career progression plans
Continuous improvement
• Articulating and reinforcing the vision, strategy and principles associated with the Barrick culture and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support leadership in the implementation of Barrick systems and processes related to CI
• Supporting leadership and in particular the CI Leader in deploying CI plans and executing CI improvement initiatives through utilization of the Lean Tools and Problem Solving Methodologies in order to realize business improvement never before thought possible.
• Provide leadership in the development of a Culture according to the Barrick culture scorecard
• Ensure that a proper system exists to track CI initiatives and progress
• Ensures that a proper organization and succession plan exists to facilitate and drive continuous improvement
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
Education and experience
• Recognized tertiary qualification
• Proven record and at least 5 years experience in a senior managerial role
• Mining or related industry experience is essential

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• An independent thinker & ability to think “outside the box”
• Highly self-motivated
• Able to work well with others and in teams
• Able to effectively influence employees at all levels of the organization
• Strong leadership skills aligned with Barrick values
