Location: Australia Plutonic Gold Mine is located approximately 1000km north-east of Perth and is one of Australia’s largest producer’s of gold. We currently produce 150 000 ounces each year from our underground operations.
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Technical Services Superintendent is responsible for the management and leadership of the mine technical services team and is responsible for the short – and long range planning and mine developments as it relates to the LOM and budgets.
The Technical Services team comprises: 10 Production Engineers, 3 Planning Engineers, 1 Ventilation Engineer, 1 Geotechnical Engineer, 1 Project Engineer and 7 Surveyors.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain strategies to achieve the life of mine plan.
• Significant input into budget generation.
• Responsibility for the Mine Reserve process.
• Provide technical support to mining operations such that mine performance is optimised while providing a framework for continuous operating improvement.
• Management of mining related projects.
• Mentoring and development of subordinates.
• Maintain a formal management reporting system that incorporates performance statistics, statutory requirements and business improvement initiatives.
• Review departmental expenditure on a monthly basis and ensure all variances to budget are investigated and explained.
You will be Degree qualified in Mining Engineering coupled with at least ten years experience in a mining environment, ideally with five years in technical / planning functions. You will have a sound understanding of statutory safety and environmental requirements relevant to the mining industry. In this pivotal role to our operation you will need to display sound judgement, first rate communication and negotiation skills and display excellent people management capabilities.

This position is fly in/fly out from Perth on a 8 days on 6 days off roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided.
