Plutonic Gold Mine is located approximately 1000km north-east of Perth and is one of Australia’s largest producer’s of gold. We currently produce 165,000 ounces each year from our underground operations.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this is pivotal role is responsible for medium and long term capital project planning, scheduling and interaction with both Surface and Underground Mining Operations, to ensure Plutonic achieves this strategic goals and objectives.
Principle duties include, but are not limited to:
• Capital projects planning incorporating short, medium and long term mine planning requirements.
• Conceptual mining studies on new orebodies.
• Compilation of capital expenditure plans for the budget and Life of Mine plan.
• Assist in the development of backfill process and plant improvements.
• Process mapping and system development of improved productivity for underground mining equipment.
• Generation of capital expenditure requests.
The successful applicant must have the following qualifications/skills:
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience within a mechanised hard rock underground mine.
• Exposure to longhole open stoping.
• Exposure to geotechnical and backfill engineering.
• Exposure to computer systems and mine planning software.
• High level understanding of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
• Ability to communicate in verbal and written form to senior management.
• Logical and analytical thinker.

This position is fly in/fly out from Perth on a 8 days on 6 days off roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided.
