Position Overview:
Operating on a 16 days on, 12 days off roster commuting from Cairns, you will work as part of a highly trained, multicultural team on this exciting international project. The Porgera Joint Venture is based in the Highlands of Enga Province in Papua New Guinea and offers a unique and challenging work environment. At an elevation in excess of 2100 meters and surrounded by limestone buttes the Porgera Valley has a temperate climate all year round with an annual rainfall in excess of 3.6 meters.
The opportunity exists for you to relocate to Cairns and enjoy a relaxed lifestyle in a modern and dynamic city offering excellent educational facilities up to university level. Alternatively and subject to conditions, the company will subsidise on-travel airfares paid to commute to and from Cairns for each work roster.
RELIABILITY SUPERINTENDENT
The position
Reporting to the Maintenance Technical Services Manager you will be responsible for a number of initiatives including development and implementation of reliability programs to achieve benchmark equipment availability and performance, by the application and monitoring of maintenance systems.
In this role your main responsibilities will include implementing and providing support site-wide and corporate systems to meet agreed service delivery levels in Reliability Planning and Reliability Program delivery in the following areas; Power Generation, Light Vehicles, Mobile and Fixed Plant. This will involve the assessment, design and effective management of workplace systems and programmes with a focus on employee development to help achieve increased productivity.
The person
You will possess appropriate tertiary qualifications in either Mechanical or Electrical Fitting including post trade qualifications such as Maintenance Planning or Reliability Engineering. You will have a high level of business and commercial knowledge and experience in cultural change programmes and general change management.
You must have significant experience in project management and business planning processes with a proven ability to lead a team focused on delivering results. Having confident and effective communication and computer skills are also highly regarded to engage across all levels including senior management, legal entities and stakeholders.
This challenging role requires you to engage with all people associated with the PJV Operations and to understand, learn from and share cultural differences. It is essential that you have the capability and desire to transfer skills and knowledge to a national workforce.
