Barrick operates the wholly owned Lawlers Gold Mine located in the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, approximately 35km west of Leinster. The Lawlers Gold Mine produces 120,000 ounces of gold from 840,000 tonnes of ore each year.
Position Overview:
Lawlers Gold Mine is seeking to employ a Underground Mine Surveyor to join the Survey Department. The position reports to the Senior Surveyor.
Suitably qualified persons with underground experience are encouraged to apply.
The principal duties include:
• Maintaining of all underground survey control.
• Producing daily survey requirements.
• Volume computations for preparing monthly reports.
• Ensuring all survey work complies with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act 1994.
• Maintaining and preparing of working plans.
• Maintaining survey equipment.
• Promoting of company environmental, health, safety and operational policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• Recognised qualifications in Surveying
• Exposure to modern survey equipment.
• Exposure to survey packages and spreadsheets is desirable. (Surpac software experience would be considered advantageous).
• Ability to work effectively within a small professional team.
• High level of personal motivation and commitment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Lawlers Gold Mine operation is fly in/fly out from Perth on a 8 days on/6 days off roster. On-site accommodation, including all messing facilities, is provided. Recreational activities include internet café, Foxtel television, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, gymnasium and golf driving net.
