Location: Australia Darlot Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an experienced Underground Foreman for our underground operations. All applicants must be in possession of a current West Australian Underground Shift Supervisors Certificate.
The successful applicants will report to the Underground Manager and will have the following responsibilities:
The principal duties include:
• Carry out daily management, control and supervision of the working areas of mining operations in accordance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Act (MSIA).
• Delegate assigned tasks and give satisfactory instructions and adequate resources to Supervisors so they can complete the assigned task in a safe and efficient manner
• Support Shift Supervisors in communicating the business objectives with the operations crews
• Maintain close liaison with Engineers, Geologists, Surveyors and other departments so that performance targets are met
• Undertake regular checks of mobile and fixed plant and equipment
• Monitor the workforce while carrying out their tasks to ensure compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures
• Maintain an accurate and full account of all daily mining operations including downtime, areas mined, problems, hourly hire and incidents
• Communication of safety issues and strategies to the crew and encourage a pro-active and interactive approach to Safety & Health issues
The successful applicants must have the following qualifications:
• At least 10 years experience in underground hard rock mining
• Experience in various stoping techniques and remote bogging operations
• Demonstrate a good level of mining skills and proficient use of machinery
• Competency in safe working practices
• Good leadership skills in providing motivation and setting organizational goals
• Good time management skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Computer literate

The operation is fly in/fly out from Perth on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided. Recreational facilities include internet café, Foxtel, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts and gymnasium.
