Our client, a major supplier of heavy duty mobile equipment to the mining industry, is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to carry out maintenance planning and scheduling for their mobile equipment fleet through the use of the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to plan and schedule routine maintenance procedures and diagnostic techniques.
To make this role your own, you will be well organised with a team approach and have the ability to review technical problems in detail. Your well developed planning and scheduling skills will ensure preventative maintenance, scheduled services and breakdown maintenance is responded to in a timely manner with all parts, materials and manpower requirements met.
You will also be required to carry out training and mentoring of national employees where necessary, ensure the CMMS database and documentation is kept up to date, as well as assist in the planning and supervision of equipment component change outs and conduct regular inspections of equipment on site.
Responsibilities and duties:
* Ensure the KOWA oil analysis program is implemented properly and that quality samples are properly and accurately taken and recorded and that results are returned as per the agreed timeframe.
* Attend Operations, Maintenance Planning and Safety meetings.
* Set up and maintain comprehensive and current technical information library.
* Ensure all equipment history files are accurately documented and kept on record.
* Maintain an accurate history of major overhaul and component replacement for each machine under the maintenance contract. In particular, provide information on failure modes, life and possible life extension possibilities as a result of a review of Maintenance Strategies.
* Management of the PRONTO EMS and R&M Care ERP system maintenance and data entry.
* Ensure all OEM recommendations are being adhered to with regard to the operation and maintenance of the equipment to achieve acceptable Contract levels of equipment availability by interacting with and communicating concerns to operations and maintenance personnel.
* Ensure all defects are investigated, recorded and the required remedial action is implemented.
* Ensure that KPI’s such as MTBF, MTTR, SA and availability are recorded daily, data analysed and reports are delivered to respondents accurately and in a timely manner.
* Assist in the training of all service personnel on prevention of early failures and good maintenance procedures.
* Develop and implement then participate in continuous improvement programs including modifications to Preventive Maintenance Sheets and assembling of Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s)
* Review the monthly key performance indicators including costs, equipment availability and maintenance statistics
* Assist in the development of the yearly budget and monitor budget performance.
Qualifications and experience:
* A trade qualification as Heavy Equipment Fitter as a minimum
* Experienced with Komatsu maintenance and business systems or equivalent dealer experience
* Experience in working with MARC’s will be highly regarded
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* The ability to mentor and develop local staff
* Strong computer literacy, planning, reporting and analytical skills
* Experience in the use of the Mobile PRONTO EMS would be highly regarded
* Possess a valid Drivers License
The role will require you to work FIFO roster of 23 days on 12 days off with travel in Company time.
Salary range will be confirmed at interview stage depending on qualifications and experience.
