One of australia's most respected civil contractors they are at the forefront for when the civil construction industry booms again in the next 2 months. With confidence high of a potential 3 new tenders being awarded the need has arisen for a senior PM. In Victoria they have a major hand in the states largest vicroads project to date and they are currently approaching becoming Australia's no1 civil contractor.

They are currently looking to bring on the ideal senior project engineer to assist the project manager to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.

The following responsibilities within the role exist;

* Manages cost control for certain aspects of the project in order to ensure the project meets its performance targets in relation to budget.
* Identifies and forecasts risks and opportunities for the project package of works.
* Identifies key areas of variances from the estimate.
* Ensures commitment from key team members to the achievement and / or bettering of project budget.
* Informs any developments of a contractual nature to the Project Manager and seeks advice on contractual issues with the Project Manager.
* Prepares and reviews tender packages to ensure completeness and accuracy in conjunction with the Project Manager.
* Evaluates and participates in the tender selection and review of subcontractors.
* Participates actively in the development of the project design.Participates in the process of design input review/ analysis e.g. statutory requirements, Client requirements, strategy requirements, financial and constructibility for nominated design packages.
* Contributes to the constructibility/ buildability (value engineering) of a design package with respect to design development.
* Implements the process of Consultant selection and administration of Consultant Agreements.
* Participates actively in the development of the project design.
* Participates in the process of design input review/ analysis e.g. statutory requirements, Client requirements, strategy requirements, financial and constructibility for nominated design packages.
* Contributes to the constructibility/ buildability (value engineering) of a design package with respect to design development.
* Implements the process of Consultant selection and administration of Consultant Agreements.
