Diamond Driller Supervisor / Trainer

We are currently seeking an experienced Diamond Driller Supervisor/ Trainer with an established international mining company. Reporting to the Senior Diamond Drill Supervisor, this role is responsible for coaching, mentoring and training a team of national drillers in operating the rig, and ensuring employee development.

In addition, you will also be responsible for:

* Maintaining a high standard of work and cost efficiency of operating the rig;
* Developing, implementing, maintaining safe work procedures;
* Managing all daily work requirements within the deep hole project;
* Organising and planning shifts;
* Meeting weekly targets;
* Promoting a safe working culture.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

* 5-10 years experience in underground diamond drilling
* Extensive skill operating long year rigs
* Experienced in deep hole drilling in excess 1000m
* Experience and knowledge in the use of drill muds and down hole equipment
* Written and verbal communication, leadership and some technical skills
* Self motivated and demonstrating good operational judgement
* Demonstrated ability to work productively and safely
* Experience in on-the-job training of diamond drilling operators
* Demonstrated ability to lead a crew safely to improve team safety awareness
* Ability to communicate effectively across all levels

Operating on a 30 days on 12 days off roster commuting out of Cairns, you will work as part of a highly trained multicultural team on this exciting international project. The location offers a unique and challenging work environment, and boasts a temperate climate all year round.
