Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer recognized by APEGGA.
Must possess a minimum of 10 years experience in Western Canadian Oil & Gas.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
Responsibilities:
To produce electrical engineering calculations and designs for facilities including area classification development, single line drawings, power system analysis, power distribution layouts, lighting layouts, instrumentation wiring layouts, motor schematics, electric heat tracings designs, and any other calculations necessary for the detailed design of a facility.
Requirements:
Plan detailed methods of solving assigned problems.
Prepare design notes, calculations, drawings, specifications, and data books.
Confer, as required, with other senior engineers and management as well as contractors, consultants, suppliers and clients.
Lead and Mentor junior engineers in electrical design practices.
Evaluate alternate processes and determine the optimum process for each application.
As required, mentor / instruct Electrical Engineers, designers, draftspersons, and administrators in the preparation of electrical technical documents and drawings.
Verify, correct, modify, and authorize electrical technical documents and drawings.
Prepare electrical engineering calculations for the design of facilities.
Strong technical knowledge in electrical equipment and systems, including medium to high voltage, with proven experience.
Knowledge and experience with SAGD construction and operations is an asset.
