Qualifications:
Must have an Alberta or inter-provincial red seal Journeyman certificate in Instrumentation.
Certification in both the Instrumentation and Electrical disciplines would be an asset Preference will be given to those possessing five or more years related Instrumentation experience.
High level of computer literacy.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Experience in or knowledge of heavy oil/oil sands production an asset.
Works well with engineering group and production environment.
Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to make sound decision while working with limited direct supervision.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills.
Familiarization with computerized maintenance management systems.
Sound understanding of maintenance/operations as it relates to the safe and efficient production of bitumen.
Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Perform specific diagnostic and repair activities to various monitoring and control equipment in the field, including PLC/DCS electronic equipment, pneumatic systems, i.e. – control valve maintenance and overhaul
Assist in maintaining complete and accurate records associated with the technical and preventative aspects of this position
Participate in failure analysis discussions.
Requirements:
Applications are invited for the above position, which reports directly to the Maintenance Team Leader in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The successful candidate is responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance activities on Instrumentation and Electrical equipment as well as provide technical support to the MacKay River Operations Team.
Opportunity:
Opportunity within our Oil Sands business unit at our 30,000 - barrel per day MacKay River SAGD Operation. SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) is a new and challenging technology being applied in the recovery and production of Bitumen from the Tar Sands.
The work-schedule is a 4 day week (Monday to Thursday) consisting of 10 working hours per day.
Travel is required from Fort McMurray to job site and back in a company vehicle
Extreme Northern winter weather conditions
