Our Client:
Our client is a growth oriented junior oil & gas company that is publicly traded on the TSX. The management team is focused on creating per share growth through a combination of strategic acquisitions and a focused exploration, development and exploitation program. They are working in South East and West Central areas of Alberta and NEBC, Frog Lake oil assets. Currently producing 6500 boe/d. Their combination of tax pools, a focused asset base and a strong balance sheet position the company well for future growth and increased shareholder value Reporting Structure: VP Engineering
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
This position¡¦s primary responsibility is assisting the team with developing optimum exploitation strategies for the company¡¦s operational projects. Duties include:
„h Monitor and evaluate reservoir performance to develop long term depletion strategies that optimize production and recovery for new and existing producing reservoirs
„h Monitor industry and competitor activity to leverage new technologies and best practices
„h Build and be able to clearly articulate to team and senior management, the key recommendations for the depletion strategies integrating engineering, geology and geophysics
„h Contribute to formulation of annual budgets and long range plans by developing production and economic forecasts for exploration and development opportunities
„h Joint venture representative for area of responsibility
„h Oversee reservoir simulations
„h Make recommendations to reduce costs and improve activities on an ongoing basis
„h Other responsibilities as requested
Skills/Qualifications:
„h Minimum of 10 - 15+ years of exploitation engineering
„h Degree in Engineering
„h Must be a standing member with APEGGA and have a current P.Eng designation
„h Demonstrated success in reservoir/exploitation engineering
„h Experience with economics evaluation models
„h System experience with Valnav and Accumap and is desirable
„h Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
„h Strong business sense and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment, complemented with a strong work ethic and self motivations skills
