Position Summary
The Global Travel Manager will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of McDermott’s global travel program and is responsible for ensuring that related activities are performed efficiently, effectively and in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
Reporting Relationship and Responsibilities
This position will report to JRM’s Director, Global Procurement and Subcontracts and will be functionally responsible for all local travel organizations involved in the management of travel services across the company, irrespective of their local reporting relationships.
Principal Position Responsibilities
* Oversees all company related travel services activities
* Design and implement sourcing strategies for all aspects of corporate travel
* Development and maintenance of needed long-term relationships with travel services providers, airline companies, hotel chains and rental car agencies
* Analyze enterprise’s global travel spend and identify opportunities for cost consolidation, volume leveraging and process improvement
* Management and administration of Corporate T/E Card Account
* Monitor traveler compliance with established travel policies and procedures
* Lead supplier contract negotiations and ensure effective management of all travel related agreements
* Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPI’s) that will permit goal achievement to be monitored
* Recommend improvements to established travel policy and procedures and lead efforts to implement agreed to changes
* Monitor supplier adherence to contractual requirements and established SLA’s
* Work closely with the Corporate Travel Council and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the program
* Ensure the corporate travel program successfully supports business requirements and internal customer needs
* Conduct industry benchmarking that will allow identification and implementation of related best practices
* Coordinate end user training on travel related systems and tools

Job Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in a business related field, or equivalent experience
* Prior international travel industry work experience
* 10 plus years prior travel industry experience to include progressive advancement of responsibility
* Established relationships with major travel service providers, airline companies, hotel chains and rental car agencies
* Ability to accomplish established objectives within a diverse corporate environment
Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)
% of Travel Required: 10-20%
