Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities include;
• Commitment to the Cliff’s Health and Safety policy, guiding principles and standards
• Assist in the implementation of a Safety Management System based on Cliff’s standards
• Contribute to the identification and control of health and safety risks and hazards
• Carry out the day to day safety functions and coach personnel in health and safety practices
• Assist in facilitating risk assessments, workplace inspections and audits
• Ensure awareness, implementation and compliance with all Cliff’s policies and procedures
• Facilitate, assist and review incident investigations
• Ensure appropriate inductions are provided and maintained for employees, contractors and visitors
• Represent the Health & Safety department at toolbox, pre-start and other site safety meetings
• Assist in the co-ordination of the Fitness for Work program
• Liaise and communicate with other site safety personnel.
The successful candidate will possess the following;
• A minimum of 3 years experience in providing health and safety support at an operational level in the resources industry
• Previous exposure to fly in/fly out lifestyle
• Cert IV of Occupational Health & Safety (BSB41604) or Diploma Occupational Health & Safety
• Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAA40104)
• Current Western Australian “C” Class drivers license
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Incident Investigation or Root Cause Analysis Training
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels
• Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation
• Understanding of health, safety and risk management
• Passion and enthusiasm for safety is essential
• Able to work autonomously or as a team member
• Self motivated, flexible and hands on approach
The successful candidate will require either a Diploma or Cert IV (BSB41604) qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) from a recognised provider. To be a successful contributor in this integral role for Cliffs Natural Resources you will have relevant industry experience developed over a 3 year period.
