Job description:

Overall Job Purpose: Responsible for providing engineering support by providing design and technical assistance regarding all aspects of the mining operation.

Responsibilities Include:

Mine site engineering projects (design, permitting, and construction oversight) as assigned, including ventilation, material handling, electrical, and equipment
Mine ventilation modeling
Water handling (supply and dewatering), rock dust system, and roof control designs
Economic evaluations of projects
Equipment modifications
Mine planning, including preparing budgets, timing, and reserve calculations
Structural steel, concrete, and earthwork calculations and designs
Interface with mine site, corporate, and government regulatory personnel

Required Education & Experience:

Preferred Education & Experience:

Minimum BS in Mining or Civil Engineering
Underground coal mining experience is a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Work with minimal supervision
Handle several projects concurrently
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and other computer programs
Experience with AutoCAD, MVS ventilation modeling, or Icamps modeling is a plus
