Tax Planner – O&G - Must Have Int’l Experience Deep North Houston, TX, USA
Independent oil and gas company is seeking a Tax Planner. This position will report to the Tax Manager. The successful candidate will possess direct experience and strong knowledge of federal and state tax and have international experience. • Provide international tax planning advice, research, structuring and compliance for both US and international tax laws and regulations;
• Represent tax group on multi-disciplinary project teams. Contribute to the financial evaluation of assigned projects by reviewing the tax section of the financial models;
• Identify the tax advantages/disadvantages of alternative investment/divestiture structures, with a view to optimizing the company’s after tax earnings;
• Understanding of tax research methods with the ability to research complex tax issues;
• Proactively identify potential weaknesses in tax controls, execution and other aspects of the business and recommend solutions; and
• Tax modeling and other tax assignments as required.
Candidate Profile
• Bachelors in Finance or Accounting, MS in Tax is highly preferred
• CPA
• 5-10 years of relevant industry and/or public accounting tax experience
• International tax experience and O&G industry experience
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• Ability to work credibly and collaboratively with cross-functional management teams
• Team player with a proven ability to perform well under pressure and think independently
