Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Mine General Manager (“MGM”) will have complete day-to-day responsibility for all of the company activities in and around the company’s mine project. The MGM will work with Senior Management to build the operational team for the mine and will guide the construction of the facilities and development of the mine and mill complex. Providing the leadership, guidance and operational savvy to optimize the company activities and maximize the long term viability of the mine and its operations, the MGM will be responsible for ensuring that good environmental and health and safety practices are maintained and for the training and mentorship of all staff under their supervision.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent and will have a solid background in underground mining engineering and operations with strong analytical and leadership skills. They must have had 10+ years in increasingly senior operations and leadership roles with solid operating background in underground mining, operations, maintenance and mill operations, ideally including the start-up of new operations. A MBA would be a positive asset.
This position will be based in Whitehorse, Yukon and will reside at the mine site on a weekly rotation from Whitehorse.
