Regional General Manager for Continental Africa | $240,000(USD) + Excellent Benefits + Bonus

Williams Mining are pleased to represent one of the world’s largest mining companies, who is currently seeking a Regional General Manager for continental Africa.The role shall be initially based in South Africa with further travel and relocation expected to West and Central Africa.

As Regional General Manager for Continental Africa, you will be responsible for strategically leading the mining operation, and ensuring continuous transfer and dissemination of mining learning throughout the Mine, as well as utilise innovative practices and technologies to continuously improve production.
The role will be responsible for providing operational, technical and managerial leadership to subordinates. This requires that the mine strategies are developed and implemented, production targets are set and monitored and the profitability of the mine is optimised. Sound financial, budget and cost management decisions are made and monitored. A major focus is the setting and adhering of safety, health and environmental principles. The management and development of people is the key to this role.

The area of impact relates to the operation and the work outputs are expected to deliver sustainable business results within a five to ten year period. In addition the role will be responsible for managing and overseeing budgets of operations which will vary according to the size of operations.

Required:

*Minimum of 7 years senior management experience within the Mining Industry
*Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering would be advantageous
*Mine Managers Certificate is required
*Minimum of 15 years experience in Mining
