Job description:

This Contracts Manager will be working at our project office in Brisbane, Australia and will then move to our Project Location in Saudi Arabia as an expatriate. This is a $10 Billion joint venture of a low cost and high efficient cradle to grave aluminum operation. This Contracts Manager will Report to and receives technical and functional guidance from the Project Director and be responsible for providing direction to direct project reports and EPC contractor(s).

This position is within Alcoa's GPP (Global Primary Products) Business Unit and our Growth, Energy, Bauxite, and Africa (GEBA) group. Global Primary Products Growth manages all capital projects above $100 million US. Major Greenfield Projects are each > $1 Billion U.S Dollars. Project portfolio will be $5-$10 Billion U.S. on an ongoing basis. Additional Owner’s Costs range from 10-15% of Project costs which can range > $100 Million U.S.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provides inputs to terms and conditions for prime and other project contracts and develops contracts
  • Ensures contractor development is in compliance with Alcoa’s Procurement procedures and policies
  • Develops contractor KPI’s and ongoing contractor performance assessment
  • Ensures contract execution per commercial terms and conditions, ASAT testing audit and compliance
  • Manages budgets, contract close outs, claims, dispute resolution and legal remedies
  • Ensures sharing and incorporation of contract management best practices within the GEBA organization
  • Establishes positive working relationships with area managers and procurement professionals
  • Works closely with contracts administrators
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, law or business discipline.
  • 10 years contract management and administration, project management, and financial management experience in a major capital project environment greater than $1 Billion U.S , gained through procurement and contract management assignments
  • 10 years experience with negotiating contracts and working eff
