Xstrata's Fraser Complex is in the process of expanding its existing copper operation as well as developing a new nickel project. The operation has an immediate opening for a production geologist. The Geologist II is accountable for the collection and interpretation of all geological data for his/her designated area to be used in grade control, ground control, production planning, development programs and Mineral Resource / Reserve estimations.  It also covers planning and supervision of diamond drill programs for Mineral Resource / Reserve definition and delineation.

 Qualifications for this position include: 5 years of progressive experience in mining geology and possessing or qualified for a Professional Geoscientist designation from the APGO.  Working knowledge of computer spreadsheets and word processing (i.e. Excel/Word) is essential and experience with CAD and geological modeling software is an asset. This is a team oriented environment and strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
