We are looking for: Process engineer, SDSS tubing - Europe & Africa Region
The Process Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager, Technology, Europe & Africa
On day to day basis, the Process Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager, Technology, Europe & Africa, and is part of the Technology team. The Technology team serves as a support function by providing technical expertise and advice for all the on-going projects in a matrix organisation. The Process Engineer will be responsible for all manufacturing phases at supplier, including follow up, production / verification testing and FAT.
The main tasks and areas of responsibility for the Process Engineer are: • Participate in meetings at supplier as required by Contract, e.g. Kick-Off meetings, risk assessments, and Audits. Some traveling activities to be expected • Conduct process audits and reviews at supplier and take initiative to process reviews when necessary outside agreed frequency • Participate in ad hoc technical meetings at supplier • Review and approval of supplier documentation • Follow up Quality issues, including review and approve supplier NCR’s • Liaise with metallurgist and other technical disciplines when necessary • Responsible for traceability of SDSS tubes • Provide advice and expertise with regards to manufacturing requirements for the project teams • The dedicated technical representative appointed by Aker Solutions for managing and supervising the production of SDSS tubing at supplier, including elevating cases to the category team when needed and intervene in projects where necessary to ensure alignment with the Umbilical business strategy and philosophy • Responsible for the follow up of all manufacturing processes at supplier and for ensuring completion of production in accordance with the requirements, both internally and externally • Responsible for understanding the technical and practical manufacturing requirements and be aware of commitments, risks and opportunities • Responsible for making sure all required supplier documentation is produced, reviewed and approved • Assure that performance is in accordance with contractual requirements as well as design and engineering procedures, templates and/or best practice • Take an active part in development programs of new tube suppliers • Assist the Sales Tem in tenders with technical expertise, especially related to customer quality and QS requirements for tubes • HSE focus in all manufacturing activities
Education and Experience: • Typically +4 years technical education (M. Sc. or similar). Missing formal education can be substituted with relevant experience • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience • Multi-discipline experience. This should include some of the following: Engineering, manufacturing, in process quality, QS/QC, laboratory, documentation, planning • Good umbilical commercial, procurement and production understanding • Excellent knowledge of relevant technical standards and specification • Fluent English
Personal Qualities: • Proven ability to manage and prioritize high level and multiple workloads. • Very good interpersonal skills, ability to interact with different levels of the organisation as well as with clients and suppliers. • Ability to take initiative and to be flexible. • Very good communication skills, ability to communicate effectively, written and orally in both English and Norwegian. • Self motivated and results driven. • Must demonstrate strong technical decision making capability. • Ability to deliver accurate and thorough reports. • Aligned with Aker Solutions values
