Senior Technical Officer |Electrical High Voltage Drafter | Rail

With more than seven thousand staff, more than six billion dollars in assets and more than seven thousand kilometres of track, our client is a strong and powerful integrated passenger and rail infrastructure business. With funding committed to the Network Infrastructure Projects we have an immediate requirement for a Senior Technical Officer (Electrical Systems) to join their team in Brisbane’s CBD.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Co-ordinator, your main purposes is to prepare, update and modify safety critical power systems, sectioning diagrams, general layouts and isolation instructions; including supervision of high voltage drafting personnel by providing them with technical support and review of traction substation designs.

Role requirement Include:

 Prepare, maintain and modify safety critical power systems drawings
 Plan and process prelim print request
 Assist in development and testing of remote terminal unit configurations
 Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate planning of modification to electrical infrastructure
 High voltage drafting support, review and guidance

To be successful you will have:

 A substantial level of skill in the preparation of drawings and power system designs; high voltage drafting
 The ability to liaise with key stakeholders
 High level skills in MicroCAD, AutoCAD, and manual drafting techniques
 Working knowledge of Primavera, Microsoft Word, Access and Excel
 Exposure to Rail industry and Railway Power would be advantageous
 Sound knowledge in improvement systems and quality assurance principals

Ideally, you would have held a similar position within the government or private sector or have working knowledge towards understanding QLD’s codes of conduct for Rail.
