Job description:

The Rotating Equipment Engineer will play a key role in defining, maintaining and improving the safety and availability of rotating equipment systems through selection , maintenance and operation of equipment.Performance manage the reliability and integrity of rotating equipment

• Liaise with Rotating equipment vendors and Maintenance Team Leaders in the delivery of emergent maintenance and repair activity
• Ensure RE maintenance activities are executed efficiently and with suitably skilled and competent resources
• Host regular RE forums to include onshore sites and key vendor participants as required
• Maintain the MTBF/availability tracker for rotating equipment and ensure failures and defects are recorded, assessed and highlighted to asset management.
• Lead the implementation of reliability improvement activity including the delivery of a rolling 3 year improvement program for rotating equipment.
• Ensure RE activity is given appropriate visibility and priority within the asset 12 week & 6 week plans.
• Exploit best available technology and investigate and make recommendations for the implementation of new technologies to improve predictive maintenance capability.
• Participate in MPR monthly performance meetings with vendors where appropriate and support the RE Contract Manager in the assessment of vendor performance.
• Drive a Continuous Improvement agenda in support of high reliability; complete RCFA investigations to understand the root cause(s) of failure and develop solutions to eliminate defects and prevent recurrence.
• Support others to refine and optimise rotating equipment maintenance
• Define SoR’s for improvements (modifications, overhauls, studies, repairs) that require external/functional support, e.g. Mods & Projects, TAR, specialist vendor(s).
• Consistent implementation of the agreed common processes: Planning, Backbone/WMS, MoC, and sharing of best discipline practice
• Work with the R&M Maintenance Execution Team in the development of annual budgets and play a key role in the management and control of costs.
• Proactively manage the integrity of rotating equipment and ensure maintenance and inspection is carried out in support of safe and reliable operation.
- Familiar with Condition Monitoring programs; Oil, Vibration and PV analysis.

Efficient Execution of Work

• Interface with functional teams to ensure they efficiently execute discipline activities in accordance with asset requirements.
• Support the advance planning of rotating equipment maintenance scopes to ensure safe, efficient delivery on-site
• Lead “After Action Reviews” to capture learnings and best practice for task optimization (Continuous Improvement Program)
• Responsible for technical approval of material & service requisitions (within discipline) in Maximo, as needed.
• Provide technical support to in-year TAR scope definition and execution.
• Support spares optimisation activity to ensure repair durations are aligned with asset priorities and production plans

Safety and Integrity:

• Support delivery of safety, integrity and environmental performance of asset.
• Responsible for providing RE integrity assurance and pro-actively managing inspection programs.

- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.- Extensive experience working on rotating equipment and ancillary systems.
- Reciprocating, Screw, Centrifugal compressor, and pump experience.
- Mechanical seal troubleshooting experience.
- Reliability engineering experience.
- Experience working for a Oil & Gas, petrochemical company or refinery.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
- Design, operations, and troubleshooting experience of rotating equipment
- ability to track and interpret metrics and develop activities to improve performance of rotating equipment
- Microsoft Office; excel, powerpoint, word etc..
