THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by a major international oil company to provide a Site Construction Manager for a position based in Southern Italy. 1 year renewable contract. Attractive rates. Excellent T&Cs.
THE PERSON
Minimum 15 years experience in the context of large projects. Oil & Gas experience MANDATORY. Position reports to Surface Facilities Manager. Experienced with proper technical level of understanding of all the disciplines involved. Role: Responsible for 4 millions construction man-hours (1300 people at peak); Lead Construction Supervision Team of 50 to 60 people at peak; Construction activities budget: 450 M€. Responsible for risk evaluation including technological risks analysis, risk management, HSE in compliance with rules, instructions and procedures, contractual clauses etc. Manage: Costs / Construction Schedule; Construction Supervision Team to ensure work is performed in compliance with contract specifications & inform Project Management of non compliance or deviations; Site contractual matters / issues (letters, minutes, etc.).
Develop / implement construction organization using Company / contracted personnel to ensure smooth project development / technical coordination. Check preparation, issue / implementation of Construction Engineering documents including detailed procedures, method statements, drawings, calculation notes, equipment, feasibility, list of personnel, planning, back-up procedures if necessary. Keep Management informed regarding on going construction status, coordinating / organizing meetings at Site. Control works performed by Contractors /check progress. Transfer all facilities ready for commissioning to Commissioning Manager. Keep informed about local events in order to anticipate impacts on activities. Evaluate / manage interfaces between sites that may arise as a result of operations conducted or malfunctions observed. Responsible for management of emergency situations on site, and for application of emergency response plan / related procedures, management of command post on site. Ensure protection of environment / monitoring of Project environmental performances.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Ideal candidate will be educated to a good level. Operating environment is project based and requires flexibility and an adaptable approach to problem solving. Able to identify, analyse and solve problems (site Safety, technical, construction, quality control, schedule, etc.). Able to work as part of a team and accept strong responsibility (including safety and security). Rigorous methodical, good organization skills. Willing to contribute / adhere to safety requirements. Fluent written & spoken English and Italian MANDATORY. French advantageous. Must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
