Reporting to the Technical Manager for Mining, this position will play a crucial role in ensuring that drill patterns and blast design schedules are maintained at the highest level.

The key accountability of this role is:

• Drill & Blast Design, Planning & Scheduling.   
• Daily co-ordination of drill and blast activities.
• Ensuring that blast designs are conducive to slope stability requirements.
• Ensuing budget compliance is met for mining.
• Maintaining records and audits of all blasts fired and preparing drill and blast reports.
• Adhering to and monitoring of QA practices – ISO900.
• Procurement of goods and services.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Minimum five years experience in similar role.
• Excellent skills in Mine software i.e. Vulcan, XPAC, 3dDig.
• Demonstrated exp in drill & blast systems & design.
• Ability to generate KPI reports.
• Initiative and practical problem-solving skills
• Substantial mine fixed plant shutdown, preventative and reactive maintenance experience.

As well as your ability to lead and develop others you will be able to demonstrate the desire and skills to progress beyond this level.
