Reporting to the Chief Engineer-Project Execution Mining Operations, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible to manage multiple small and large capital projects, as well as providing project leadership and interface with projects sponsors. In view of the proceedings, the Mechanical engineer will be responsible, but not limited to the following;
- Review designs, for the projects, with regards to constructability alongside the Sponsors and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the alignment, of the construction for the project, by liaising with the all stakeholders to ensure the project has a construction execution plan which is aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate, mentor as well as coach others on the project team and the business unit to define and execute the project.
- Ensure projects are managed with high attention to safety and in accordance with health, safety as well as environmental standards.
- Construction management activities as required to execute a particular scope of work, in accordance with the relevant procedures and regulations.
- Review of project scopes, construction plans and procedures for compliance to Company or statutory requirements for health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Pre-commissioning activities to confirm that all construction work has been completed as designated, and is suitable for hand-over to the Company's operations personnel for commissioning.
- Commissioning support as requested from time to time.
- Preparation and submission of hand-over documentation in accordance with the Company's procedures.
- Control, file and transfer project's documentation, including electronic documents.
- Bachelor of Engineering (disciplines - Mechanical/Civil)
- Minimum of a 5 years experience
- Preferably P. Eng. or eligible to get P. Eng. designation.
- Good Communication and negotiation abilities
Asset
- PMP or Master Certificate in Project Management will be considered as an asset
