Located in the Bowen Basin, this role will be based in Mackay working a Monday to Friday residential roster from our Mackay office. With a strong culture based on diversity and equal employment, the Hail Creek site is characterised by its high performance and strong safety record.  Reporting to the medium Term Planning Superintendent, we are seeking a high performing Mining Engineer to join the team.   In this influential role you will ensure the business objectives are incorporated into the operational mine plan.  Working closely with the full value chain across site, you will develop the mine plan within the three months to five year timeframe, liaising closely with both the short and long term planning teams.  Key Responsibilities

• Mine plan development with an extraction sequence meeting tonnage, quality and cost objectives
• Conformance with long-term plans/objectives.
• Identify and clearly communicate key aspects of each quarterly mine plan reforecast (specifically mine design & scheduling issues, risks and opportunities, plan outcomes in terms of production, reconciliations & changes between plans)
• Initiate ground disturbance approvals based on Medium Term Plan requirements for pits, dumps, roads and rehabilitation.
• Identify, schedule, prioritise and monitor key work required to deliver on the current Site Mine Production Plans
• Identify value add opportunities in terms of haul profiles, pit access, stripping requirements
• Capital expenditure forecasts and mine project works

Role Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering or a related discipline
• Exposure to mining operations, opencut mining experience will be high regarded
• Previous short to medium term planning experience is essential
• Exposure to mine scheduling & design work
• Minescape, Xpac or other mine planning Software experience
• A high level of communication, initiative & willingness to work in a team environment
