The Superintendent at this site has over 15 years local, open pit experience and will be covering the team management side of things. This will allow you to get on, make decisions and implement production system improvements on site. Then once you have things up and running, you will have the opportunity to develop your mentoring and management skills over the team of 4 Grads and Engineers setting you up to climb further down the line.

On a day to day basis, you will oversee pit design and production schedules out to 18 months. At this higher level you will also have more frontline contractor management. The site itself has multiple open pits already in production with more coming on line each year. You will be therefore get to oversee more than one pit, across two commodities and be involved with the complete life-cycle of new pits. Bring a QM ticket with you and there’s an expectation that you will step into the Alternate QM role when ready. The company is one of the top ten globally and one of the leaders on the local market in its commodity. Life of asset currently exceeds 30 years so they are well positioned for the future. The camp has all the mod cons and generous salary packaging includes above standard super, frequent flyers and bonuses.

You will bring 4-6 yrs' of post-grad experience following tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering. A strong drive to develop in a well-rounded Engineer is essential. A QM or the ability to get one is highly desirable.
