A very exciting opportunity has just become available for a mining engineer to join this newly established underground mining operation.

Owned by a highly successful mining explorer and producer, they are mining base & precious metals using longhole open stoping methods. A recent expansion has just been undertaken increasing production to 750ktpa.

Reporting to the Chief Mining Engineer, key accountabilities will include:

• Provide technical assistance to the mining department on all aspects of the mine
• Assist the Chief Mining Engineer and act in this position when they are offsite (on R&R)
• Mine planning and design, generation of weekly/monthly/yearly life of mine plans
• Update mine plans
• Act as an "advisor" and mentor local engineers

Skills and Experience required:

• Must hold Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering
• underground hardrock (base or precious metals) mining experience preferred however will consider open pit experience
• Experience with mine design software
• Mature minded and have the ability to be patient, ability to mentor and help the local staff

This position is offered on a permanent basis and will consider either residential in-country or fly in fly out from your point of hire in Australia. FIFO roster is 20/10 travelling in company time, a shorter roster is offered if residential - this will be residential Beijing, short flight to site.
