Aker Subsea Business Area’s project planning and scheduling department has a vital role within MSP (Major Subsea Projects). The department provides proactive time management and forecasting of subsea project deliverables. It is instrumental in the time management design, developments and implementation of best practices, processes, methods and tools for project tendering and execution.
The Project planning and scheduling department also supports the Subsea global functional responsibility mandate that has been assigned to MSP, with the direct responsibility for maintaining the global Subsea time management procedures including best practices for project tendering and execution.
As Manager for the Project planning and scheduling department you will report to the VP of Project management & control, and be part of his management team. The position is located in Fornebu, Oslo and some travelling will be required.
The position is now open as our current department manager is leaving her position for new challenges within Aker Solutions. Ideally her successor is already working in Aker Solutions and has leadership experience within project planning and scheduling, or alternatively other relevant experience from our industry within the area of project management and control.

Responsibilities and tasks
• Development of personnel within department
o Direct reports: Project Planning & Scheduling Leads, Project Planning & Scheduling Engineers, Planning system support functions
• Mapping of project demands for project planning & scheduling resources and through recruitment ensure that department is correctly manned
• Ensure project planning & scheduling resources have the required competence to perform assigned tasks in tenders and projects
o plan and perform training activities for time management and lessons learnt
• Ensure that best practices for time management is established and maintained
o delivery of reliable and realistic project schedules
o consistent and accurate project progress status reporting of all projects
o critical path analysis
• Ensure communication of best practice for time management to the Subsea organisation, including senior management and project directors
• Be the global responsible champion for time management, maintain the global time management network, and manage upgrades / improvements
• Provide advice, methods and tools to subsea projects globally
• Responsible for estimating, controlling and forecasting of department budget, and report budget status on a monthly basis, or as requested
• Encapsulate the corporate values through your work and actions
Qualifications & personal attributes
• MSc. or equivalent in Engineering or/and Business Administration.
• Minimum 10 years experience with project control and/or planning & scheduling or relevant experience from project execution or business leadership.
• Good understanding of international project execution and project management standards.
• Extensive experience with Aker Solutions PEM or similar project execution system.
• It will be an advantage to be a certified project planning professional, and also have proven skills in MS Office, primavera and SAP PS module.
• Good knowledge of the English language and good presentations skills.
