Job Description;
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the ideal candidate possesses a diploma/degree in Structural engineering and 5+ years of experience Heavy industrial/mining equipment. Please highlight any experience in Heavy Mechanical Engineering (such as conveyors, Ship loaders, reclaimers/stackers, coal handling and/or mining equipment) or equivalent.
Responsibilities will include structural analyses on mechanical equipment (conveyors, bulk material handling equipment, industrial equipment etc.) The Structural Engineer will also be responsible for managing the structural and design aspect of the project, engaging site investigations, developing structural details and providing construction support.
Job Requirements:
- BS in Structural Engineering with 5+ years of direct hands on experience;
- Experience in the mining/bulk material handling equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of US and international structural engineering standards and codes;
- Familiarity with AUTOCAD, RESA, RESA 2-D, Staad, Ansys.
- Structural design & analysis of industrial and mobile equipment
- Knowledge of welding standards and methods
- Retrofits to improve efficiency on existing plants.
- Quality Control of all designs
- Some domestic and international travel will be required.
