The primary accountabilities of this role include:

• Operational review and sign off of mine design
• Optimisation of the mine layout and selection of equipment
• Optimisation of mining sequence and pit development
• Design of the mine extraction sequence & planning of mine development
• Interface between Operations, Resource Development & Expansion Projects teams
• Challenging fleet selection, planning and deployment schedules
• Implement short term and medium term mine planning processes
• Establish operational parameters to enable robust short and medium term mine plans
• Determine mine development, stockpiling strategies & production ramp up schedule
• Incorporate all technical aspects that impact extraction and production sequence

• Degree qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in mine planning
• Mine design & scheduling software experience e.g. XPAC & Vulcan
• Significant operational experience in large open-cut mines
• Experience in project studies is desirable.
• Demonstrated problem solving in areas of approval processes, mine design, operations management & mine regulations
• Exposure to safety systems within a large mining company
• Ability to work autonomously & as part of a team
