Located less than 5 kilometres from Muswellbrook, BHP Billiton's Mt Arthur Coal is the largest individual coal production site in the NSW Hunter Valley. The mine produces around 15 million tonnes of energy coal annually for local and international customers, with plans underway to increase production to 24 million tonnes. BHP Billiton is offering an exciting opportunity for Heavy Equipment Fitters to join our Electric Drive Truck maintenance team here at Mt Arthur Coal. Committed to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement, your highly developed team work and interpersonal skills, combined with strong technical skills and an eye for continuous improvement opportunities will prove essential in your ability to perform this role.

Core Accountabilities of the role: 

You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a range of equipment, predominantly Electric Drive Trucks and experience on front end loaders, mechanical drive trucks, dozers, graders and other forms of heavy machinery will be well regarded.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position you will;

•  have mechanical trade qualifications

•  be experienced in the maintenance & servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment

•  be highly motivated and diligent

•  have a genuine commitment to safety and our goal of zero harm

•  work in an environmentally responsible manner

•  be able to work in a team environment

•  be prepared to work towards mutual goals to improve productivity and efficiency

•  work in accordance with the Mt Arthur Coal Workplace Agreement.
