  The Role   Reporting to the Mine Manager the Underground Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for providing timely geotechnical information, inspections, geotechnical mapping, geotechnical core logging and have input into the design of the mine including the development and stoping methods.     Part of the role would involve QAQC work to ensure we maintain a high standard of ground support installation at the operation. The role is also responsible for the management and effective implementation of the sites ground control management plan (GCMP).   To be successful     To be considered for this role you must have the ability to demonstrate experience/qualifications in the following areas:-  

• High commitment to safe working practices at all times and have a good understanding of risk management processes
• A strong focus on environmental best practice and continuous improvement.
• At least 2 years relevant geotechnical experience
• Good with people and a team player
• Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering or similar.
• Previous work experience in and around an underground mining environment would be preferred – hard rock
• Software experience in geotechnical modelling software, Microsoft Office, Surpac and  Mine 2-4D or similar software packages
• Prepared to work a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, roster but are flexible to other arrangements.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills

    Cracow Operation    Cracow Gold Operation is located in central Queensland, Australia, approximately 4 kilometers from the township of Cracow and approximately 500 kilometers northwest of the city of Brisbane. Cracow employs around 260 people, including contractors. Some people live locally but most FIFO (fly in and out) from south-east Queensland coastal areas.
