Position Responsibilities:
Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health, safety, and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned.
Be able to take direction from and supports intermediate and senior staff to achieve goals.
Make appropriate decisions with input from intermediate and senior staff.
Contribute to projects with a major focus on data collection and processing with an increasing role in analysis and interpretation.
Be able to apply technical skills properly with a thorough understanding of the data and findings.
Excellent planner and organizer and effectively share or delegate tasks.
Accountable for completing tasks on time and on budget.
Possess a strong work ethic working in a challenging environment.
Qualifications:
Well-developed mining engineering, geological or geological engineering technical skills.
Must understand and promote process improvement and change initiatives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of computers and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Strong work ethic- Willing to do what is needed to get the job done.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
The ability to travel and relocate as required.
OSHA and MSHA certification.
Mincom MineScape experience strongly preferred, but not required.
Job Requirements:

Bachelors or Post-Graduate degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Geological Engineering.
0 - 2 years’ experience in surface coal mining or applicable field of expertise.
Continuing professional development - Certified Engineer-in-Training or equivalent.
