KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
In coordination with other crew members the Mine Leader follows job procedures and regulations to perform the tasks required in a safe and effective manner.
General duties and responsibilities include:
 Assign job tasks to crew members and monitor progress throughout the shift.
 Perform any duties as a Miner when required.
 Operate scooptram (front end loader type unit) for the purpose of removing blasted rock from the underground development “drifts”, “stopes”, etc.
 Assure the ventilation, compressed air, and water services are properly installed and maintained.
 Operate a scissorlift truck for the purpose of installing roof support enforcing rods.
 Install wire screen mesh and scales loose rock from ceiling, walls, and faces (end of drifts).
 Prepare drilling faces by cleaning out previously blasted holes, by marking line and grade lines on face as well as drill patterns.
 Operate Jumbo (carrier mounted drills for the purpose of drilling holes in the face for blasting to advance face).
 Operate explosives loaders to blast drilled holes.
 Other duties as required and as qualified.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Full Basic Common Core
Experience: 3 years related work experience
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
 Good communication skill and ability to work with others
 WHMIS
 Strong organizational skills
 Able to work in a team environment, be self-motivated and enthusiastic
