Description

This position will provide technical support to mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and design short and long-range mining development plans within the framework of the annual budget which determine ore location and result in optimization of mining productivity, safety, quality and cost.
• Design drill patterns for blasts and provide technical support to drilling and blasting coordinators and other mine operations personnel.
• Oversee ore control by preparing a daily grading schedule for ore blending and ensuring blend projections are met.
• Track material movement daily to ensure proper lease credit.
• Identify improvement opportunities to reduce mining costs while considering safety, quality and productivity.
• Provide information to the Financial Control Department monthly so they can prepare royalty checks for the fee representatives.
• Ensure compliance to all governmental regulations regarding drilling and blasting activities.
• Administrate the computer operating and database systems.
• Utilize the departments mine planning and database management systems.
• Conduct economic evaluations of mineral resources using current mine planning software.
• Supervise and direct survey crews.
• Design and monitor material stockpiles, minimizing cost and meeting government requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• B.S. in Mining Engineering or equivalent (civil, metallurgical, geologist.)
