Talisman Energy Services Inc is an affiliate of Talisman Energy Inc. Based in Houston; Talisman Energy Services Inc. is growing its deepwater discipline and is seeking for an experienced Exploration Geologist in support of our New Ventures asset.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
•Work in a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate, develop, drill, and appraise deepwater exploration prospects in a frontier deepwater basin.
•Generate regional and prospect level interpretations from all available data utilizing various workstation and PC based software packages.
•Generate play types, models and analogs.
•Develop petroleum systems model for plays.
•Work will be involving deepwater depositional systems.
•Develop a prospect and lead inventory and bring prospects to drillable status.
•Prepare prospect prognosis and drilling plans.
•Integrate prospect geology with reservoir and drilling departments.
•Present projects to management, partners and government agencies.
•Coordinate drilling operations and well plans
Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications:
•Bachelor Degree in Geoscience, preferred Msc/PhD with deepwater related experience.
•Greater than 10 years of relevant experience.
•Must have recent deep water exploration experience.
•Must have exploration well operations experience.
•Knowledge and experience utilizing various PC and Unix workstations and interpretation software.
•Excellent communication skills
•International travel may be required
