The Role Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer on site we are looking for a dynamic suitably experienced individual to join our Mt Carlton operation in the role of Mine Engineer.  The Mine Engineer is responsible for supporting the Senior Mine Engineer and assisting with scheduling, budgeting and planning. The position is newly created and represents a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive and dynamic mid–tier miner that will offer the successful applicant the chance to be part of an exciting growth focused organisation.  

To be Successful The Mine Engineer must be must be a self-motivated self-starter. The incumbent must also have the ability to communicate effectively with persons in more senior and less senior positions. All work must be completed to a high standard and incorporate sound mining engineering practice   The Mine Engineer must have the following experience;   · At least 3 years’ experience at an operating underground or Open Pit mine site · Previous production and or planning experience, · Exposure to mining software packages, Surpac exposure would be advantageous · Scheduling and budgeting skills. · Competent user of MS office suite · Conceptual understanding of mine geotechnical principals · Working knowledge of sound drilling and blasting practices   In order to be successful in this role we envisage that the successful candidate will use their significant industry experience and capabilities to undertake;   · Drill design and supervision, · Some Blast design and supervision, · Supporting the SME with various mine scheduling and budgeting practices · Mine design and mine planning support · Ground support design and  monitoring as required · Be the champion for and drive continuous improvement throughout the operation, · Promote a safe and healthy work culture, through the Mt Carlton  safety management system,

Mt Carlton Operation Mt Carlton Gold Mine is located approximately 80 kilometers West of Bowen and a further 140 kilometres from Townsville. Currently in a Construction phase, the site anticipates approximately 200 people including contractors, reducing to roughly 140 staff for Operations. This is a Drive in/ Drive out site with the majority of employees living in Townsville or the Bowen region.
