Position Location: Houston, TX
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide electrical designs along with standard product and system drawings according to Modular Product concepts and System Design Philosophy as communicated by the Electrical & Control Group Lead
Perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner according to priorities set by the Electrical & Control Group Lead
§ Size and specify power distribution and protective circuit devices including transformers, filtering reactors, motor starters, relays, motor control centers, circuit breakers, fuses, etc.
§ Design control circuits and relay logic, specify control hardware including the selection of power supplies, operators, relays, metering and other hardware, etc.
§ Perform load, short circuit and harmonic analysis of power distribution systems
§ Create AutoCad drawings showing power distribution, control circuits and wiring diagrams
§ Create Project Bills of Material in the company's MRP system
§ Create and maintain project controls documentation including I/O lists, PLC and/or HMI software for Engineered Products
§ Resolve electrical discrepancies that arise during the course of design, manufacturing, test and commissioning of projects
Perform system designs in conjunction with mechanical designers to ensure safety, functionality, logical component placement, cable entry location and interconnect points within the cubicles
Create red line drawings to communicate modifications, design changes and other revisions to production and field personnel
Assist QC and Test department as necessary
Assist and support Sustaining & Commissioning team with start ups and troubleshooting of systems
Actively participate in the design process providing ideas, suggestions and feedback on how to provide a better end product to our customers
Assist with special projects and tasks as directed by the Electrical & Control Group Leads
Provide regular updates on project status and activities to the Electrical & Control Group Lead
Education and Experience:
BS in electrical engineering
Minimum of five years experience in design of power distribution systems and/or controls systems
Familiarity with the oil and gas drilling industry
