Aker Solutions' drilling technologies business based in Kristiansand is a world leading supplier of drilling equipment to the oil and gas industry. We need highly motivated individuals who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the deepwater drilling market.

Responsibilities and tasks

Support on technical issues related to Aker Solutions’ drilling equipment on drilling rigs in operation:
• Clarification of incoming questions from customers, related to modification or upgrade
• Technical input for quotations, scope of work, time and cost estimate
• Follow-up cases

When appropriate:
• Draft scope of work or other relevant technical documents
• Participate in rig survey
• Design and implement upgrades or modifications for rigs in operation.
• Participate in relevant commissioning and service jobs (typically 1-2 weeks)

Qualifications & personal attributes

• Bachelor degree within mechanical engineering
• Experience from the oil and gas industry may compensate for lack of formal education
• Technical background (e.g. service engineer who would like to stop travelling)
• Good understanding of mechanical and hydraulic drawings
• Experience in the drawing programs ProE and Autocad is an advantage
• Drilling and/or offshore experience is an advantage
• Good Norwegian and English skills both written and verbal
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
