Under the supervision of the L.A. Basin Engineering Manager, provide production engineering expertise to Los Angeles Basin assets in order to maximize production, identify new opportunities, and maintain all safety and environmental standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in training junior level engineers
• With limited review, handle production engineering assignments of varied scope and complexity.
• Serve as project leader based on broad knowledge of production engineering.
• Serve as coach/mentor for less experienced engineers and field personnel.
• Serve on evaluation teams for potential acquisitions in relevant geographic areas
• Develop realistic schedules, budgets and cost estimates for all ongoing and special project work.
• Ensure adherence to all company, local, state and federal health, environment and safety regulations.
• Seek opportunities to network outside the company to build relationships and gather information that lead to future business opportunities.
• Assure that producing properties operate at a maximum economic rate.
• Ensure compliance with all governmental and contractual requirements.
• Ensure that assets deliver on production and financial targets and forecasts.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Engineering degree in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering and exposure to oil and gas production operations.
• 8+ years operations/production/ drilling engineering experience (oil and gas production) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Specialized knowledge in at least one technical discipline (production, petroleum, drilling ) with a working knowledge of facilities.
• Demonstrated experience working with key vendors and contractors.
• Experience working in—and preferably leading -- cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of applicable new technology.
• Experience in artificial lift design and application, well completion and remedial well work; some drilling experience preferred.
• Experience working in onshore operations, preferably in California with some urban exposure.
