PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for the mechanic/electrical infrastructure and overseeing the preventative and predictive efforts
to ensure that our mine meets operating, cost and availability targets.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES/DELIVERABLES

to undertake such duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope of grading of the position. All
employees are required to be professional, cooperative and flexible in line with the requirements of the
position.
Plan, direct, organize and control the activities of all mechanics, electricians and all others working in
the mine.
Develop, implement and report on goals, objectives, policies and procedures relating to the
mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Monitor progress against utilization and performance targets for the mechanical and electrical
infrastructure and equipment, and submit regular reports on costs and performance of operating
projects.
Involved in short and long-term planning of operations and capital projects.
Do need analysis for new equipment and facilities, major repair and rebuilding projects.
Changes, review progress, and approve proposals/costs related to mine.
Responsible for coordinating and tracking major equipment overhauls and/or modifications to design
work testing and failure analysis.
Work with mine and mill operations to identify and correct reliability and productivity issues and/or
participate in root cause analysis and incident investigation teams.
Supervise employees reporting directly to the position - in accordance with company policies
applicable legislation.
Supervise and coordinate projects, liaising with service providers/contractors/consultants
SELECTION CRITERIA
Associates degree from two-year college in a related technical field or certificate or diploma from trade
school in related field and five years experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a mining facility or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
In-depth knowledge of the mining maintenance is an asset.
Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment.

Knowledge Required:
Production and Processing -- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other
techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Mathematics -- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
Skills Required:
Operation and Control -- Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Operation Monitoring -- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Quality Control Analysis -- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or
performance.
