Job Description
Qualifications:
Position requires a B.S. in Electrical, Chemical or related discipline with 12-15 years’ experience in oil & gas production, refineries, chemicals or petrochemicals. Refinery experience is preferred. Experience should include: an ability to execute small to medium sized projects from conception to start-up within budget and on schedule. Must have knowledge and application of all instrumentation related Standards, Codes and Regulations; working knowledge of DCS, and PLC control system hardware and architecture; working knowledge of databases and an understanding of Intergraph SPI InTools software tools desirable; an understanding of project control techniques, budgeting, scheduling and tracking is required.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include: instrumentation and control systems engineering; develop P&ID’s, control philosophy and alarm/emergency/shutdown and safety instrumented systems (SIS); develop engineering scope of work, man-hour budgets, cost estimates and staffing requirements; field instrumentation selection and sizing, field instrumentation calculations, preparation of instrumentation equipment data sheets and specifications; develop Cause and Effect Charts, Control Narratives and Logic Diagrams; lead and direct the engineering and production of design drawing packages; perform quality checks and verification of compliance to standards for all instrumentation and control system specifications, and related drawings issued for construction; material requisitions and approval of bid tabulations and field checkout, construction support and start-up assistance.
