Aker Solutions' based in Houston is looking for talented individuals who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the oil and gas market.

Responsibilities and tasks

Responsible to carry out electronics engineering design to meet requirements specifications; provide electronic engineering solutions to subsea control system projects; carry out engineering calculations and deliver a quality functional input to subsea project engineer; specify and procure equipment to meet external and internal customer requirements; create high quality engineering documentation, including but not limited to: design specifications, electrical and electronics schematics, assembly drawings and test procedures; check documentation created by other engineers and technicians; assist with equipment testing and provide functional support to manufacturing and service departments as required; provide guidance and ensure quality work of Junior Engineers/ Technicians; and carry out commissioning activities at client site as required, to ensure successful engineering handover.

Qualifications & personal attributes

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 5 years progressive experience as a design engineer, electronics engineer or a related occupation.

Position also requires experience or knowledge of the following: Analogue and digital electronics design, including but not limited to switch mode power supplies and communication interface design; testing software for microprocessors and/or microcontrollers using C; Altium Designer or other CAD program used for electronic circuit design; IEEE standards and recommended practices used for electronic circuit design; and “Design for Manufacturability” methodology for printed circuit boards.
