Aker Solutions' based in Houston is looking for talented individuals who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the oil and gas market.



• Confers with Electro-Hydraulic Assembly Technician III to read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, production drawings, specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.  Also, receive verbal instructions or follow samples to determine assembly requirements.
• Knowledge and training to solder both lead based solders and lead free solders.
• Mounts assembly components, such as valves, transducers, sensors, accumulators, electronic modules, and other electrical or mechanical components using hand tools.
• Twists, bends, trims, or strips wire leads of components using hand tools
• Solders or crimps wire leads using soldering iron and crimp tools.
• Layout and assemble wiring harnesses in accordance with electrical diagrams or schematics.
• Routes and connects wires on hydraulic assemblies between individual components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering, or crimping.
• Installs water tight connections utilizing boot seals and boot connectors in compliance with engineering specifications.
• Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, brackets to assemblies.
• Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, stamping, and etching when required.
• Position, align, and adjust work pieces and parts to facilitate wiring and assembly.
• Performs cleaning of manifolds and base plates ports as required prior to assembly.
• Knowledge of proper assembly techniques for installing o-rings and back-up rings on various components and in accordance with engineering and quality requirements..
• Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.
• Apply Protective coating as specified, using paint sprayers when required.
• Adjust, repair, or replace component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
• Assemble electrical and electronic systems to support structures using bolts and brackets.
• Drill and tap holes in specified equipment locations where necessary to facilitate mounting using power tools.
• Fabricate and form parts and structures according to specifications, using drills, calipers, cutters, and saws.
• May be assigned to perform duties other than those listed above.



1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Three years of experience involving assembly of electro-hydraulic equipment or similar oilfield products.
3. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
4. Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
5. Responsible for proper disposal of wastes generated during  assembly, maintenance and repair activities.
