Golder currently has an immediate need in our Gainesville office for a Water Resource Project Engineer. This water resource professional will perform assignments under the supervision of senior project managers and surface water practice leads. The individual will have the opportunity to handle multi-discipline projects in the Power, Manufacturing, and Waste Sectors. Tasks will be designed to develop knowledge, skills and abilities in these technical disciplines and the business of professional consulting services.
You will be able to demonstrate your expertise and success in technically challenging surface water engineering and surface water hydrology work. You will have the ability to have both a “team player” and a “team leader” perspective, develop trust and show technical leadership.
Responsibilities may include the following:
* Surface water regulatory compliance, storm water management, watershed action plans, Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) implementation requirements, planning, design and implementation of innovative BMP's and source control applications.
* Pollutant evaluations including field sampling (surface water, groundwater, and sediments), sampling plans and QAPP development, statistical analysis of environmental data, and comparison to regulatory thresholds and guidance.
* Technical document preparation, including technical writing and creation of exhibits and maps; hydrology and hydraulics (engineering calculations and modeling); water and waste water treatment processes; Erosion and Sediment Control design and field implementation. Storm water management design/AutoCAD.
* Industrial and domestic waste water permitting in support of Manufacturing and Renewable Power Faculties.
Job Requirements:
* B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Emphasis in water resources discipline is preferred).
* At least three years of consulting experience working within the Florida water regulatory and permitting framework.
* Demonstrated writing and report preparation skills.
* Functional understanding of surface water, groundwater and watershed-based models, to the extent that the candidate can competently develop models to specific water resource problems.
* The ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel are also required.
